In this web page there are illustrations of how to place pins and patches. Also, there are ideas and tips that make the difference.







Your R.A. emblem patch , membership pin, Lad or Crusader emblem patch, and Lad or Crusader chevron are awarded to show you have completed the basic requirements in your advancement book to become a Lad or Crusader in Royal Ambassadors.
The basic membership requirements for the Lads and Crusaders are to learn and say the "Royal Ambassador Motto" and the "Royal Ambassador Pledge".

To earn the bars and stars in the Lad and Crusader Advancement Workbook this is what needs to be done:
1. To get a bar , you have got to complete a virtue [chapter]---which totals 75 points that is earned.
2. An "Elective Star" can be earned goes beyond the 75 points that is earned from each virtue [chapter]. These extra points adds up as you work through the advancement book. There could be a lot of stars could be earned by doing extra work in each virtue. (The star is in the picture below.)


The "Advancement Patches" are earned after all five virtues [chapters] are completed.
In the Lad Advancement Workbook the five virtues are:
1. Loyality; 2. Friendship; 3. Courage; 4. Responsibility; 5. Honesty.
In the Crusader Advancement Workbook the five virtues are:
1. Faith; 2. Compassion; 3. Perservance; 4. Teamwork; 5. Self-discipline.
The "Athletic Patches" for the Lads and Crusaders are earned when the boys follow the chart in the back of the advancement for a month. There are a variety of sports or exercises listed in the chart for them to do.

Camping and learning how to do the skills of camping is interesting. The Campcraft Advancement give opportunity to learn and to earn a patch when you have completed all the requirements at your level. The different levels are: Discoverer 1 (Lad 1), Discoverer 2 (Lad 2), Discoverer 3 (Lad 3), Hiker (Page), Camper (Squire), and Woodsman (Knight).
The different areas of learning in each of these are: Trip Planning, Equipment and Shelter, Ropecraft, Toolcraft, Firecraft, Cooking, First Aid, Safety and Sanitation, Map and Compass, Nature Study, Conservation, and Fun and Worship.



These Bible Memory Medals take work and alot of memorizing to get. You don't have to memorize Bible verses from the R.A. program, you can pick out Bible verses that mean something special to you. Also, what other verses that are memorized from other events counts. ( Sunday School, Bible Drills, camps, and so on.)
The "Bronze Medal" (left) is awarded when the boy memorizes 25 Bible verses. The "Silver Medal" (middle) is awarded when the boy has memorized 50 Bible verses. The "Gold Medal" (right) is awarded when the boy memorizes 75 Bible verses. Remember: The acheivement of one medal counts towards the next medal.

The "International Mission Study Patch" is earned when you study and learn about other countries and what Southern Baptist Missionaries are doing in those countries. Remember, missionaries help spread the Gospel of Jesus around the world and they help people in many ways, too. They "International Mission Study Chevron" will show a different year you studied about another country.

The "North American Mission Study Patch" shows you studied about a missionary here at home in the United States. You will learn how the missionary is carrying the good news of Jesus here at home. The "North American Mission Study Chevron" will be given to the boy(s) to show the year he and/ the chapter learned about missions here at home.

The Racer Patch--- This patch is awarded when the boy makes the "R.A. Racer" and races it in the "R.A. Racer Derby". There is no need to have a "NASCAR Card" to have fun.
The Lineglider Patch--- This patch is awarded when the boy makes a "Lineglider" , enters, and participates in the "Lineglider Races." No experience needed in aviation.
The Sailboat Patch--- This patch is awarded to the boy makes the "R.A. Sailboat", enters, and participates in the "Sailboat Races". When you compete, you need alot of wind and strong lungs.

Note: You and your boys can go to an association event, state event, or at their church or someone else's to get these patches. You don't have to place to earn this patch. In Christ, everyone is a winner.



The Sports Patch--- Any sport will earn you this patch. The sport event has got to be organized by R.A. Leader as a R.A. event. Just think, you can invite your lost friend to your sporting event. And he might get saved because you invited him to something he likes that sport.
The Campout Patch--- This patch can be earned camping out with your own R.A. program. While you are earning this patch, you will be working toward earning Campcraft patch, too. WOW!!!
The Mission Activity Patch--- This patch will be earned when you do a mission project that isn't covered in the R.A. program. The mission project can be an event that is organized and planned by your R.A. leader as a R.A. mission project to help someone or as a tool to reach the lost in your neighborhood, city, or out of the area where you live. This patch will help you touch others around you.

The "Opportunity Now Patch" is earned when the boys in your chapter raises $10.00 each to help out the Disaster Relief effort at the North American Mission Board. The Disaster Relief has a budget to opperate from, but this money raised is money that's readily available to the teams that go out in a moments notice to use at a disaster site to purchase items that make the difference for the victims of the disaster.
The items purchased for the victims can be toys and teddy bears for the children, soap and towels for the family, or a tank of gas for the family car.
This extra money is a little something for disaster victims to use to make life a little bit easier when a community is devistated by a disaster.

The "World Hunger Patch" is earned by each boy when they attend a month of study and learning in the chapter meeting about World Hunger around the world. The World Hunger Workbook has the plans to help you setting up your seven part chapter meeting for a month.
Remember: In order for the boys to receive this patch, they have got to attend that month completely!!!

The "World Walk Patch" is earned when the boy collect pledges to walk so much a mile from church members and others to walk so much a mile and collects the pledges for missions. This patch can be earned as a church event, state event, or a association event. You can be creative and do a bike-a-thon and earn it that way, also.

The R.A. Leader Certificate is given to honor the volunteers that dedicate their time on a regular basis to run the R.A. program and have completed training in Royal Ambassadors.
The "Call of Abraham" certificate is one of many certificates received in the "Bible Telling" series for each of the students and leaders. There are 36 "Bible Telling" stories found in Royal Ambassadors.org/bibletelling webpage.
